This performance is intended for audiences 18+. If you plan to bring yourself or others, please know that you’re going to be seeing an R-rated movie with a group of people screaming lewd things at a screen and dancing. Enter at your own risk…and get ready for a good time.
Etiquette
Our first goal is to make sure everyone has a good time. The idea of Rocky Horror participation is to have fun, not disrupt the show/film, the following guidelines will help you and the other members of the audience to enjoy the show to the maximum pleasure level. Please ensure that you are conscious of those around you. This is not a family affair, by any stretch of the imagination.
- Please use props only when indicated.
- No additional props (beyond what is in the kit) are allowed into the theatre.
- Everyone wants to hear and see the movie, please keep yelling to the appropriate moments.
Throwing things like confetti, toilet paper, and water is part of the fun at Rocky Horror shows. However, it’s important not to throw things with the intent to harm people, damage the theater, or ruin someone’s costume.
Dancing
Although not compulsory, you may find that during The Time Warp you are the only person in the audience not on your feet. By simply following the rule: ‘do what it says’ you will also be able to participate in this famous dance. For example the phrase “It’s just a jump to the left!” should be danced by jumping to the left. If you want to get up and boogie to the other songs, feel free to do so, remember though The Time Warp is the only dance that has set moves.
Audience Participation
Whether you are watching the film or stage show version of Rocky Horror you will notice that the audience are talking to the screen or actors. Fans have been dressing up, shouting back lines and singing along to the show and movie for 50 years now. Performing casts of fans act out the movie in front of the screen for the love of Rocky, not to make money out of fellow fans.
